Why should I fundraise?

The RBWH Foundation exists to fund patient care and lifesaving research projects across Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH), Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS), Redcliffe Hospital and the many Institutes and Centres across the Herston Health Precinct.  

RBWH has a global reputation for excellence and world-leading discoveries that result in innovations and improvements in patient care, yet many of these discoveries simply would not happen without community funding from generous supporters such as yourself.  

How can I fundraise for the RBWH Foundation?

Bake sales, trivia nights, raffles...there are countless weird and wonderful ways that you can raise funds in your community.

What does the money I fundraise go towards?

When you fundraise for the RBWH Foundation you are helping to fund crucial advancements in patient care and medical research that simply would not be possible without your support. The money raised is distributed to clinicians and researchers to seed fund projects through the RBWH Foundation grants that will improve health outcomes and help to save lives, both now and in the future.

I want to host a Bunnings sausage sizzle, what do I need to organise?

Hosting a Bunnings sausage sizzle is a tried and tested, sure-fire way to raise money in the community!

To get started, simply get in touch with your local Bunnings store and they will talk you through the booking process. You can then liaise with our community fundraising team for help setting up your fundraising page

Online Fundraising

How do I setup up an online fundraising page?

Visit the fundraising page on the RBWH Foundation website here and follow prompts to set up your page.

Can I personalise my fundraising page?

Yes, you can name your page, add a profile photo and add a story or description on what is prompting your fundraising efforts – in fact all of this helps gather support and vital funds!

How do we collect electronic payments at fundraiser events?

Most fundraisers choose to bring their own Square reader for contactless payments.

However, if you require an EFTPOS machine, please reach out to fundraise@rbwhfoundation.com.au for availability.

Can people who donate to my page get a tax-deductible receipt?

Yes. Individuals donating through your fundraising page will receive an electronic receipt directly to their email address provided.

How do I transfer money to the RBWH Foundation after my event?

When you register as a fundraiser you will receive a ‘Right to Fundraise’ letter which has our bank account details, so that you can deposit the money you have raised into our bank account, or you can deposit via your self-created fundraising page.
