The RBWH Foundation Grant Round 3 has been announced, with a number of projects targeting the extension of care for patients after they have been released from hospital.
The RBWH Foundation CEO Simone Garske said the innovation of both patient care initiatives and medical research was an extraordinary reflection of the dedication and passion of clinicians across Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service.
“The RBWH Foundation is turning 40 Years Strong this year and never have we been as excited and optimistic about the quality of medical and health projects being developed across RBWH and STARS,” said Ms Garske.
“Our Grant Rounds are now offered twice a year, offering patients across Queensland - and potentially the world, double the impact on their health outcomes.”
Among the grants awarded was:
- A communication portal for pregnant women to receive timely advice from clinicians about their health goals
- Food parcels containing essential food items for vulnerable patients on discharge
- Implementation of a new combination pain relief tablet for low-risk post-caesarean patients
- Evidence-based memory group intervention for older adults following a mild cognitive impairment diagnosis.
The RBWH Foundation Grant Round 4 website is now live and will open for applications from 1 March to 31 March. For more information, click here: https://www.rbwhfoundation.com.au/grants
