For life-saving medical research

The Royal Run for Research is one of Brisbane's oldest and most-loved fun runs.

For over 30 years it has helped raise vital funds for medical research into causes like cancer, infectious diseases, chronic illness and more, at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

After a short hiatus (thanks Covid!), we are BACK bigger and better than ever with our first ever virtual run.

Join us this April by walking or running and raising funds to power life-saving medical research that simply would not proceed without your support.

Are you ready to help improve the lives of thousands of Queenslanders each year? Time to get moving!

MEET JULIETTE

Current RBWH patient, Royal Run for Research participant and a proud tube-fed runner

Maryborough miracle mum, Juliette McAleer, is urging Queenslanders to join her in the RBWH Foundation’s ‘Royal Run for Research’ this April, as she continues to chart new territory for tube-fed marathon runners.

“You never know when you might need the expertise of our State’s largest hospital - and I hope you never do - but it is comforting to know they’re there, constantly working to implement the most up to date medical research, knowledge and technology to save lives,” said Juliette.

In 2020, Juliette almost died from a twisted bowel that killed most of her small bowel and stomach. She was flown to RBWH where she spent six months, undergoing multiple life-saving surgeries.
Despite being fed through a tube in her stomach, Juliette took up running eighteen months ago.

Today, there is no stopping here as she charges on to raise funds, awareness and spirits of other patients in RBWH and beyond.
