Mega property auction to advance medical research
An anonymous couple has generously gifted eight properties to the RBWH Foundation in their will. The properties will go to auction on the 10th of December with Place Estate Agents.
The extraordinary gift could raise over $5 million for the RBWH Foundation. These much-needed funds will go directly towards supporting world-leading clinical and medical research and patient care initiatives.
According to RBWH Foundation CEO Simone Garske, “These particular properties were donated by a wonderful couple, who had no children of their own, and who were treated at RBWH.”
“I understand, because of the exceptional care that they received, they wanted to do something extraordinary for other people.”
The RBWH Foundation had been patiently waiting for optimal market conditions to sell this incredible donation. Buyers now have a rare opportunity to support a worthy cause through their property purchase.
In addition, Place Estate Agents have generously offered to donate their commission to the RBWH Foundation. The RBWH Foundation is so grateful, not only to this selfless couple but also to Place Estate Agents, for this generous gift.
This amazing gesture has the potential to save lives, both locally and internationally.
One couple who has benefitted from generous donations like this are Anna Jowitt and Michael Waggitt, whose son Hamish was born not breathing and underwent 5 minutes of CPR. His brain urgently needed oxygen, so he was rushed from Tweed Hospital to the RBWH’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for specialist cooling therapy. Thanks to this advanced technology, Hamish was cleared of any brain damage and is now a healthy one-year-old.
