Jeanette Wiley

Jeanette Wiley trained as a nurse at the Brisbane General Hospital from 1956 to 1960. She then worked in paediatric nursing in Brisbane and Sydney before heading to London in 1972 where she worked in palliative care. Jeanette continued in this specialty in New Zealand and at the Mt Olivet Hospital in Brisbane (now known as St Vincent’s Hospital). Jeanette retired in 2012 and today volunteers at the Museum of Nursing History located at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She is Vice President of the RBH Nurses’ Association and Secretary of Dying with Dignity Queensland.
