Dr Akram Khalil

Dr Khalil is currently a full-time Senior Gynaecologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and a Senior Lecturer at University of Queensland with a special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, endometriosis and education.  He trained in Queensland towards the FRANZCOG.

Dr Khalil he started as an intern at the Royal Brisbane’s Hospital in 1993. By 2003/ 2004 he worked as Senior Registrar at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s and he continued as a Consultant since 2004.

Dr Khalil has advanced his training in laparoscopic surgery by travelling interstate and overseas. He has been an active member in the Australian and American society of Gynaecology Laparoscopic surgery He is one of the first robotic trained gynaecology surgeons in QLD where he facilitated and assisted in the first robotic hysterectomy that was done in the RBWH 2009.

He coordinated many advanced gynaecology laparoscopic workshops at the RBWH. He is also an examiner in the FRANZCOG, DRANZCOG and the AMC exams.
