Together, we raised it for Redcliffe Hospital!

12 Nov 2023

The extraordinary power of giving has shone through at the annual Redcliffe Hospital Giving Day, Thursday 12 October, raising more than $208,000 for refurbishment of the hospital’s Palliative Care Unit, research and grants.

The annual campaign is the major fundraising event for Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital, a partnership between the RBWH Foundation and Redcliffe Hospital. Every donation received by Giving Day was doubled thanks to the extraordinary leadership of community impact partners.

RBWH Foundation CEO Simone Garske said funds raised would support innovative patient care projects, life-changing health research and other hospital initiatives.

“It’s so heartening and gratifying to witness the level of community support and leadership of local business,” said Ms Garske.

“The generosity of the Moreton Bay community has doubled the difference at Redcliffe Hospital, touching on the lives of thousands of patients, now and into the future.”

With just under $60,000 left to raise, Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital soon hopes to add a touch of home to visiting areas within the Palliative Care Unit, enhancing the experience of about 600 patients and their loved ones every year.

Redcliffe Hospital can also continue building its cutting-edge research program, which has national implications for dementia care, new interventions to reduce modifiable risk factors in patients undergoing elective surgery, and 3D modelling of prostate tumours for patients undergoing treatment.

“Not only does our community’s support brighten the day of patients but funding of research will ensure Redcliffe Hospital can attract some of Australia’s best clinicians as it continues to expand,” said Ms Garske.

Community events were held in the lead-up to Redcliffe Hospital Giving Day, and on the day, including the official launch and a fun day at 99.7 Bridge FM park.

“If it weren’t for community Impact Partners like Lewis Land Group (The Komo and The Belvedere), BallyCara, GKS Law, Crew Legal, My Care Enterprises and Redcliffe RSL, our major media partners 99.7 Bridge FM and Channel 7 and other valued supporters including City of Moreton Bay, Team Musicare, Moreton Bay Regional Prostate Cancer Support Group, The Rotary Club of Redcliffe Sunrise, SchoolAid, Sesame Lane, Electronic and Mechanical Calibrations, REDDY Fun and Fitness, Sandgate Post Office Hotel, The Sebel Margate Beach, Lumber of Love, Bunnings and many more individuals, schools and groups, Raise it for Redcliffe could not achieve the successes and triumphs it has,” said Ms Garske.
