RBWH Foundation Volunteer Michele helps deliver much needed supplies

The RBWH Foundation has been a long-time supporter of the ‘Patients in Need’ program at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Helping patients for over 4 years, the program provides emergency supplies and clothing for patients when they need it most.

Those supported can include victims of sexual assault, homeless people and mental health patients.

RBWH Foundation Volunteer Manager, Simone James, says many organisations have been essential to the program’s success.

“The Betty Cares Foundation came on board last year and donated Betty Basics 3-part clothing packs including pants, a top and a shawl. We’ve likely provided more than 200 Betty Basics clothing packs over the years”.

Another company showing its support is Colgate who have donated over 500 toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes for patients.

“It may seem like such a simple gesture but delivering the essentials to someone in need can really make a big difference to their stay at the hospital,” says Simone.

The RBWH Foundation is currently requesting sleepwear donations. All clothing must be in new condition. Contact us via our Facebook page or website to donate.
